Living Bread Food Pantry

We started our food pantry in 2021, we started doing our own distributions in late 2021 and when we started we were doing them once a month. We were soley relying on our congration to donate food at that time to help us to get food to give out at that time, at that time we were only able to give out canned goods, and shelf stables and occassionally bread. We prayed really hard about this need and God sure came through, we were able to partner with a food bank in our county and were able to give out frozen meat, cheese, milk, eggs, fresh veggies and so much more along with the other items. When we started we were only getting about 20 families a month and when were able to partner with them and get the word out we started to get more families. When we reached 40 families we went to twice a month distributions and the Lord blessed us with donations of 2 deep freezers and commerical size cooler. We have also been blessed with a building as soon as we get the permits taken care of. We now service roughly 65 families every 2 weeks. God has blessed us so much and our church has not had to put up any money for this ministry everything has been donated and we also recieve donations to help to continue to get items and food to help these families monthly.

When we were praying about what to name the food ministry the story that kept coming up was how Jesus fed the multitude with 2 fishes and 5 loaves of bread. So we named our food pantry Living Bread Food Pantry, because Christ is very much alive and He is our bread of life and is suppling our community with physical bread as well.

John 6:35 I am the bread of life, Jesus told them. No one who comes to me will ever be hungry and no one who believes in me will ever be thristy again.

Hurricane IAN

Good morning everyone, as you know we have been watching the hurricane out there and after discussion with the pastor and food ministry director the decision was made out of an abundance of caution, care, and concern for our people, and community to POSTPONE the food distribution that was to take place this Wednesday 9/28/22. We will make a post and let everyone know once we know what this storm is going to do and the impact it will have on us when the drive will be rescheduled for, or if we are going to have to wait until the next scheduled distribution day. Please know this decision was not made lightly, and we do understand that people will be impacted by this, however we must maintain the safty of everyone and cannot have people on the street driving nor out in this weather handing out items. Please be safe, God bless.
